Essa semana estivemos no Hypogeum em Malta. Um templo unico descoberto em 1902. Para conhecer voce tem que comprar o ingresso um mes antes da data escolhida, porque e super disputado. Eles aceitam somente 80 visitantes por dia, para a conservacao do local e para manter a temperatura e a humidade constante. Nao conseguimos tirar fotos dentro, entao as fotos abaixo sao do site Heritage Malta.

O Hypogeum em um templo subterraneo. E foi construido devagar entre 3600BC e 2500BC. Antigamente eles nao tinha ferramentas de metal, entao para conseguirem construir eram usados ossos e chifres de animais. Sao aproximadamente 500 metros quadrados, tem 3 andares, e uma profundidade maxima de 10.6 metros acima do nivel da rua. Os arqueologos descobriram dentro mais de 7 mil corpos humanos, artigos pessoal, como amuletos, animais esculpidos e grandes figuras. Algumas das paredes de pedra estao desenhados simbolos com pigmentacao vermelha.

This weekend we went to The Hypogeum in Malta. It's a unique temple that was discovered in 1902. To go in you have to buy the tickets a month before, because it's always fully booked. They can accept only 80 visitors a day, because to conserve the site they have to keep the temperature and humidity inside constant. We were not allowed to take photos inside, so the photos shown here are from the Heritage Malta website.

The Hypogeum is an underground temple. It was slowly built between 3600BC and 2500BC. Back then they didn't have metal tools, so it was dug out of solid rock using bones and animal horns. It is over 500 square metres in size, has 3 levels, and it's maximum depth is 10.6 metres below street level. Inside archeologists discovered the remains of over 7,000 human bodies, personal ornaments such as beads and amulets, little carved animals, and large figurines. Some of the rock walls inside had designs drawn on them with red pigments.
